📦 Data Collection and Storage
MyNoiseBuddy is designed with your privacy in mind. All noise samples, location data, and recordings are stored locally on your device unless you explicitly choose to export them.
💾 Local Data Storage
- Noise Samples: All noise level measurements are stored locally on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you manually export it.
- Location Data: Location information is used only for mapping noise levels and is stored locally. We do not track or share your location data.
- Audio Recordings: Snoring detection audio snippets are stored locally on your device and can be deleted at any time through the app's data management features.
- Sleep Sessions: Sleep monitoring data is stored locally and remains private on your device.
🔐 Permissions
- Microphone: Required to measure noise levels. Audio is processed in real-time and not stored unless you enable snoring detection in Sleep Mode.
- Location: Used to map noise readings geographically. Location data is stored locally and never transmitted to external servers.
- Background Location (Optional): Only requested if you enable background monitoring. This allows continuous monitoring when the app is in the background.
📤 Data Export and Deletion
You have full control over your data:
- Export your data as CSV or JSON files at any time through the app's settings.
- Delete all data, including noise samples, sleep sessions, and recordings, through the data management section.
- Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
🚫 No Data Sharing
MyNoiseBuddy does not:
- Transmit your data to external servers
- Share your information with third parties

🍎 Third-Party Services
The app may use Apple's MapKit for map display, which is subject to Apple's privacy policies. No data is shared with Apple beyond standard iOS functionality.
